From fibre to fabric to tape

Textile products always begin with the right material. That is why we do not only think in tapes, but in fabrics, raw materials and technical properties.

You can rely on proven standard qualities, develop new materials together with us, or have your own materials refined through our processes. The origin of the material is secondary – what matters is that it fits perfectly with your end product and your downstream processing.

With over 60 years of experience in tape and fabric processing, we combine material expertise with deep process understanding. The result is textile solutions that perform technically and remain economically reproducible.

Our proprietary materials

Available directly from stock and ready for immediate delivery. We offer a selection of more than 50 qualities and over 1,000 colours. If your required material is not yet included, we will work with you to identify the right solution.

We maintain a broad portfolio of proprietary standard qualities in woven fabrics, warp knits and other textile constructions.

Our materials are specifically designed for further processing into binding tapes, folded tapes, piping, handle tapes and technical tape solutions. This means for you:

Special materials – developed to your specifications

When standard qualities are not sufficient, we develop textile materials precisely according to the requirements of your end product. Materials are never considered in isolation but always in interaction with function, downstream processing and later mechanical or environmental stress.

Development begins with fabric construction. Depending on the application, materials are produced through weaving, warp knitting or knitting – with clearly defined mechanical properties, elongation behaviour and structural stability.

We also offer maximum flexibility in fibre selection. Whether cotton, polyester, polyamide or blended constructions – fibre choice is determined by function, expected load and desired appearance.

In addition to construction and raw material selection, we deliberately define surface characteristics and tactile properties. Colours are dyed to exact specifications, motifs can be printed and the handle can be adjusted intentionally – from soft and flexible to firm and dimensionally stable.

We also develop functional finishes that prepare the material for its intended use. These include, among others:

• water-repellent properties
• flame-retardant finishes
• chlorine-resistant qualities
• enhanced abrasion resistance
• controlled dimensional stability

Contract processing – your material, our processes

Have you been working with a specific material for years and wish to continue using it? No problem.

Krass+Wissing processes your customer-supplied material on a contract basis and fully integrates it into our production workflows. You gain access to our entire manufacturing depth – cutting, printing, folding, piping, sewing, coating or laminating – using exactly the material you have already successfully established.
